Author Quiz is taking a break...

Since I started Author Quiz just over a year ago, the number of visitors to the blog has steadily grown, with the most popular interviews having recieved over 500 page views.

However, it does require a regular commitment out of my schedule every week to upload and format the interviews and unfortunately very soon I won't be able to guarantee the necessary time, as for the next few months I'll be away backpacking around the world.  I've therefore decided that to avoid making commitments I can't keep, Author Quiz will be placed on a break while I'm away.

Things will keep running for a while yet, however, as any interviews already submitted have been scheduled to be featured over the next few weeks.  Also, to be fair to anyone who's working on an interview at the moment, any interviews which are submitted before the end of October will also be featured.

After that though, as I'll be away travelling I unfortunately won't be able to guarantee the normality to my schedule to work on the blog on a regular basis and therefore the safest decision is to place the blog on hold for a few months until I get back from my travels.

Finally, massive thanks to all the authors who have sent in interviews over the last twelve months, and also to all the readers who have visited the blog.  Author Quiz has now featured interviews from over fifty authors covering more than fifty different genres, so thanks again to everyone who has contributed interviews over the last year.

Big Thanks To All The Authors Who Submitted Interviews To Author Quiz in 2012

To start the New Year off I want to say big thanks to all the authors who submitted interviews to Author Quiz during 2012, and hopefully there’ll be many more interviews published in 2013.  At one stage the backlog of interviews was down to about three weeks, but a recent rush of interview submissions has seen the waiting list grow to approximately eight weeks, so if any authors are considering submitting their own interview to be published on the blog then I would recommend submitting it as soon as possible.

Just to recap, Author Quiz provides authors with the opportunity to provide a personalised interview by answering questions from each of the categories found on the following page:

Things are pretty flexible, so you can answer whichever questions you feel best introduce yourself to potential readers.  It also makes for a better interview in terms of presentation if you submit a book cover and author photo with your interview, and I also like to publish links to authors’ facebook and twitter pages, as well as of course sales links.

Backlog Of Author Quiz Interviews...

Since Author Quiz launched a couple of months ago, several authors have submitted interviews so it’s been great to see the concept getting support from the indie author community.  In recent weeks in particular I’ve received a sudden rush of interviews so as things stand there’s currently a backlog of approximately four weeks for any new interviews to be published.

I’m mentioning this not to deter other authors from submitting their own interviews (I always enjoy receiving new interviews), but as an author myself I know that it can be helpful to have a timescale for promotional opportunities.  I therefore thought it would be useful to mention the current Author Quiz waiting list for the benefit of any authors who like to plan ahead.
